something that keeps me alive

in life, you need something to make you feel alive and passionate about. and finally, i found mine.

people who knows me well sure will know that i’ve always liked to collect cute stationeries, notebook or journal. and last year i finally started a hobby that has something to do with them, it is scrapbooking or sometimes people call it collage journal/vintage journal/creative journal/aesthetic jornal. lol so many. also since i also love to watch ASMR scrapbooking on tiktok and youtube, i get inspired by them to make my own videos.

i make videos and post them everywhere; tiktok, instagram, and youtube. and i’m surprised that there are people who loves to watch my content in those platforms. i’m so happy that now i have something that keeps me happy and helps me relax for a while. it also helps me with my concentration because when i journal i’m so focused on and invested in doing it.

although there are several ugly comments about what i do, but i chose to focus on the good comments only. i also found some new friends and journaling community which are so lovely. so yeah, more positivity than negativity. when i read good comments it makes me want to make more content for them to enjoy.

i started this new hobby by collecting the supplies little by little, i got them from various shops such as shopee indonesia and international shops like paperwrld and lblyxir which i compile to my linktree. soo yeah that’s what i want to share this time. if you want and have time, you can come by to my youtube channel! xx

p.s: the shop links are affiliated (i will get a commission if you make a purchase but it will not affect your price) 🙂

my quick thoughts on norwegian wood

after a few months of having reader’s block, finally i finished reading murakami’s norwegian wood. this is my first time reading his novel, before, i have only read what i talk about when i talk about running years ago and i think i liked it. now i will give my quick thoughts after reading norwegian wood. i’ve been wanting to read this novel for a long time since everyone seems to like it. i’ve watched the movie years ago but dont really remember what’s going on with the story lol.

surprisingly, i need a few months to finish it, i started on october 2019 and finished on june 2020. wow. it is not because the novel is bad, no, it’s not bad. i had reader’s block on january and was kinda busy with my thesis, so there’s that. but i think this novel is a little bit boring.. yeah.. when i got in the middle of the novel, when watanabe visited naoko in kyoto, i got really bored and just dont want to try to read anymore. but at the end of last month, i tried it again, and i think it gets more interesting in the end.

overall, i like how murakami describe the details–bizarre details of each characters. i love how the characters really have personality and secrets. i like the story even though it is slow but its beautiful. it’s about life and death, in what way how we choose to live or die. there are some parts that are disturbing to me (about reiko-san) but as i said, i like how the characters have their own story about their pain and love.

so this is my quick review, i like this novel but not my favorite since little boring. however, i still want to read other murakami’s novel and short stories in the future. if you happen to read this blog post, write your thoughts on norwegian wood in the comment! bye.

i am older.

today i turned 25. it is kinda scary but i feel grateful. i always wished if i could be peter pan and stay as a child or go back to when i was fifteen years old and live a happy life forever, however reality is not like that.

when i look back to my life in the past 24 years, i realize that everything is temporary; people, some things that i cherish so much, tears of joy, sadness, depression, love and even heartbreak. it is true that memories live forever in my head but what can i do with the memories? and what about bad memories?

people and things come and go. and change. they only come to our lives for a while. thinking that everything will stay the same is very naive (i always do that). of course i’ve experienced the loss. losing people who i thought would not leave me; a member of family, friends, even strangers that I don’t really know.

and i realize that i can’t depend on something, i must depend on myself. and i am the one who decides my happiness. today in my birthday, i promise to myself that i won’t depend my happiness on someone else, and i want to be more mature in making decisions. i want to be healthier physically and mentally and find my peace. that’s my purpose.

How I spend my quarantine days during the pandemic

Before I start, I know it’s been a very long time since my last post (about 4 years?) many things happened in my life that’s why I’d like to make a small update about my recent life, anyways. as we all spend most of our time by staying at home for a few months because of COVID-19, in this post I’m going to list the things that I do at home during this pandemic. The first thing that comes to my mind now is writing a new blog post lol. someday I woke up feeling bored and start thinking about restoring my WordPress account and make a new blog post, so here it is! finally a new content for my blog.

Mostly I stay on the bed I spend my time learning Japanese. FYI, I’ve been interested in Japanese for years but haven’t had a chance to learn it. I started learning Japanese seriously at the beginning of Ramadan. I was planning to learn Korean and Spanish altogether but I decided to go with Japanese first. well, I learn it at home by myself so my progress is not really significant each day. but, thanks to my effort now I can at least read hiragana and katakana and a few kanjis –although I still can’t write kanjis lol. I purchased two books for basic Japanese called Marugoto and they help so much in practicing to write the words, and I’ve been using Duolingo as well which helps me a lot in structuring a sentence.

Enough with the Japanese thing, during this pandemic, I decided to buy some flower seeds (sunflower, dianthus, strawflower, and succulents) and vegetables (mustard greens). its been about more or less 9 days since I planted them. some of them have begun to grow especially the mustard greens. but I’m skeptical about the sunflower seed since I might planted them in a wrong way lol. but I just have to wait and see how it goes.

Other than that, I also try to get myself back at sketching. I remember that I was so into drawing years ago but so less practice and I’m not gifted at all. my drawing is so bad and I don’t think I have progressed at all. that is why I decided to practice sketching once more. thankfully I still have the blank sketchbook that I bought three years ago. haha! I hope it will work out this time.

Actually most of the time I spend my days playing mobile games such as Hay day (always my favorite), Mystic Messenger and Mr love: dream date and sometimes the sims 4 on my pc. I really want to play Animal crossing since people seem to like it so much but unfortunately, I have no Nintendo. I also watch some episodes of Criminal Minds and finished Bungo Stray Dogs and Tokyo Ghoul: re. and sometimes I play with my niece and nephew to get through my days. that’s pretty much what I do during staying at home though.

However, the most important thing that I do nowadays is looking for a job. FYI, I just graduated last month and I’m supposed to get a real job now. working as a freelancer is kinda suck and unstable so I hope this year I will finally get the real job that I would enjoy doing it. this pandemic kinda slows my life down (well my life is already slow anyway) but I won’t complain much since everyone’s lives have also impacted by it. I just hope this pandemic will end soon and we can get back to our normal life. I also pray for all the medical workers that work their as** off in the front-line for us. so stay safe, healthy, and stay at home everyone! I hope you enjoy reading this small post from me.

The Scorch Trials [The Maze Runner #2]

Assalamualaikum guys!!
sebelumnya aku mau ngucapin selamat tahun baru 2016 yah walaupun udah telat banget haha.
rencananya aku mau ngepost tentang buku The Scorch Trials ini dari kemaren-kemarenn haha tapi karena kau sok sibuk (aku lagi PKL sekaranng) jadinya baru sekarang deh aku mood ngepost-nya, sambil numpang WiFi dikantor haha 😀
menurut kalian yang udah baca novel ini gimana? menurutku, iyasih lumayan bagus ceritanya tapi alurnya agak lamban. juga tentang (Spoiler) konfliknya Thomas sama Theresa, aku jadi ga suka sama Theresa karen adia pengkhianat walaupun dia ngelakuinnya dengan alasan tertentu.
satu hal lagi yang pastinya kalian udah pada tau (kalo udah nonton filmnya pasti ngerti) menurutku FILM DAN NOVEL 95% BERBEDA. pas nonton filmya greget banget pokoknya. aku loncat2 deh nontonnya.
initinya, kayanya aku ga bakal nerusin baca buku ketiganya deh udah males soalnya hihi. tapi tetep deh The Maze Runner is the best.
menurut kalian gimana guysss?

[Film] The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2

Cr: thehungergames.wikia.com
Hi!
Happy Watching!

Hangout di Alice Tea Room Malang

Hi Guys, Happy Weekend yah!

Bagian depan/luar
Bagian depan/luar. haha muka jelek harus ditutup

Gimana? bagus kan. bagian luarnya emang bagus banget view nya. macem kek ada di dongeng dongeng Alice in Wonderland LOL. kemaren temanya halloween soalnya bertepatan dengan halloween. sayangnya waktu itu kita datengnya pas siang, jadi kita mutusin untuk nongkrong di dalem aja.

bagian dalam. lucu kan tempatnya?
Nasi goreng & Vanilla milkshake

Go Set a Watchman & Ocehan

HALO HALO!
Akhirnya bisa buat post lagi (ง ͠° ͟ل͜ ͡°)ง
Banyak hal yang terjadi beberapa minggu ini. seneng, sedih, stress, rasa syukur, penyeselan, semuanya komplit terjadi T^T oiya, salah satu yang bikin aku stress yaituu.. jreng.. jreng.. ‘proposal skripsi’ sumpah bener dah bikin bingung nih ya, perjuangan buat lulus kuliah taun depan. Amiin.

My Rating: 3.5/5

Novel ini, meskipun ceritanya ngelanjutin cerita dari novel To Kill a Mockingbird, tapi sebenernya novel ini ditulis sebelum novel To Kill a Mockingbird loh. kok bisa? iya sebenernya naskah novel ini adalah draft pertama novel To Kill a Mockingbird tapi pas Harper ngajuin naskah ini, malah disuruh nulis cerita yang menceritakan sebelum cerita Go Set a Watchman ini, dan jadilah dia nulis novel To Kill a Mockingbird. Setelah itu, beberapa puluh taun kemudian tepatnya taun 2015 juli, baru Go Set a Watchman di terbitkan.

Langsung kita intip sinopsisnya yuk!
Aku baca yang versi Inggris, jadi sinopsisnya Inggris aja yah hehehe.

Maycomb, Alabama. Twenty-six-year-old Jean Louise Finch–“Scout”– returns home from New York City to visit her aging father, Atticus. Set against the backdrop of the civil rights tensions and political turmoil that were transforming the South, Jean Louise’s homecoming turns bittersweet when she learns disturbing truths about her close-knit family, the town, and the people dearest to her. Memories from her childhood flood back, and her values and assumptions are thrown into doubt. Featuring many of the iconic characters from To Kill a Mockingbird, Go Set a Watchman perfectly captures a young woman, and a world, in painful yet necessary transition out of the illusions of the past–a journey that can only be guided by one’s own conscience.

Written in the mid-1950s, Go Set a Watchman imparts a fuller, richer understanding and appreciation of Harper Lee. Here is an unforgettable novel of wisdom, humanity, passion, humor, and effortless precision–a profoundly affecting work of art that is both wonderfully evocative of another era and relevant to our own times. it not only confirms the enduring brilliance of To Kill a Mockingbird, but also serves as its essential companion, adding depth, context, and new meaning to an American classic.

Nah, setelah baca sinopsisnya, pasti udah ngerti kan ya ‘disturbing truth of her family’.

[Novel] The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

Assalamualaikum!~
soalnya emang bahasa inggrisku sebenernya masih blepeton sih wkwkw

Di post kali ini, aku mau ngomongin tentang buku The Fault in Our Stars yang di tulis oleh John Green! siapa coba yang masih ga tau buku ini hehe pasti semuanya tau dong ya atau setidaknya udah nonton filmnya lah ya. um, kalo masih ada yang belom tau, ini dia penampakan bukunya.

Synopsis:
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. but when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.
My rating: 4.5/5

Some infinities are bigger than other infinities

Have a lovely day everyone!

My currently reading: Divergent #1 (ga selesai2 baca soalnya udah liat filmnya, plus sibuk sama tugas kuliah -_-)

Current fave songs:
What do you mean – Justin bieber
Cardiac Arrest – Bad Suns
